Boundary House

Boundary House

55 Boundary Street proposes a subtropical vertical community. Designed to reflect Brisbane’s subtropical identity while delivering a distinctive addition to the South Brisbane skyline. The architecture is guided by the Kurilpa TLPI principles, with an emphasis on subtropical materials and a strong commitment to sustainable, climate-responsive design.

The podium is a civic base that grounds the tower within Boundary Street’s evolving urban fabric. It's form is wavy, gradually stepping outward in a rhythm, with cascading greenery and spilling plants softening its edges and reinforcing a subtropical streetscape character & proposes to activate corners, provide shaded pedestrian arcades and visible communal spaces to reinforce connectivity and engagement with the public realm.

Tower form is composed from a combination of balconies, fins, and shading screens to enhance façade depth and climate comfort. Sky terraces and communal breakout spaces within the tower allow residents to experience greenery at an elevated level while balconies act as outdoor rooms, blurring the threshold between inside and out, reinforcing Brisbane’s subtropical lifestyle.
